These two Scriptures reveal the two greatest foundational truths about God that all other truths, even the truth concerning His son, our Lord Jesus Christ, are built upon. I want to take you on a little journey, one that will stir your spirit and even if you don’t understand everything I am saying you will know inside of you that you are reading truth and you will want to understand it.

God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth. John 4:24

God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. 1 John 4:16-17

First, God is Spirit and to know Him you must seek to enter into a spiritual walk. Many know about God, but to know Him you will have to learn to see God through your spiritual eyes and hear from Him through your spiritual ears or else you can never know Him in truth. I know that many are content with just knowing about God and creating an illusion of who God is, but there are those who want to know Him in truth; these are the ones that God is looking for. The foundation of entering into the spirit is based on entering into love.

Secondly, we learn that God is love. This is the key to entering into the spiritual walk. It’s not how much you know in your head, but how much you give of your heart. Are you willing to give of yourself to the extent that it changes you? To truly know Him you must enter into His love, allowing it to flow through you to yourself and out to those around you. To love God is to learn to see yourself and others through God’s eyes and develop the attitude of Jesus Christ within you; the attitude of laying down your rights and your life for others.

Starting from these two principles of the kingdom of God, you come to an understanding of God’s desire to become your Father; to have a relationship with you by being an active part of your life. Many can accept God as God, but they have a hard time accepting His love as a Father. Jesus taught that God was your Father first, and your God, second. After God raised him from the dead, Jesus said, “Go instead to my brothers, and tell them, ‘I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’"

You come to God not for Him to change your circumstances, but because there is something inside of you that draws you to Him. For God doesn’t change your circumstances, He is not an escape, instead He changes you, and you, with His help, change your circumstances. God gives you His Spirit to live inside of you in order to transform your thinking and your life for good, but you have to choose to allow Him to become a part of your life.

I know that the world teaches that there is many ways to God; however, truth is from God and God is Spirit, so truth is Spirit. The world cannot receive the truth for it is not spiritual. I want you to know that the truth of the Spirit is that there is only one way to the Father. Knowing Jesus is the way to the Father. Allow this knowledge to transform your life will reveal the truth about the Father. And it is this truth that will set you free from the bondage of this world and give you life. No one can come to the Father except through him.

Faith in Jesus Christ is the door to the true God and the only way you can enter into His presence. You may not fully understand the importance of the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus, this is normal because your mind has just begun to see in the spirit.

I can boldly proclaim this as truth because I have seen it, not just because of the Bible, but because I have seen it in my life and it is written upon my heart. It is only through Jesus Christ that God can become the Father that you seek.

The stirring of your spirit inside of you is the Holy Spirit calling you. If you will reach out and seek the truth, not through your head, but through your spirit, allowing your spirit to speak to your mind, the truth will be revealed to you. You will grow in a supernatural faith in Christ and it is this faith that will guide you in all truth, God’s truth, and it is this spiritual truth that will lead you into a new life that you can’t even imagine at this time.
