WHAT SEPARATES US FROM THE FATHER

Now the secret is that eternal life is not living forever, but just as sin brings eternal death to a person by separating him from God, eternal life is being joined with God through your spirit. And since you now have the ability to see the kingdom of God, you will now have the ability to grow in the knowledge of the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom He has sent. Through God’s Spirit that now lives inside of you, the Lord Jesus is revealing to you spiritual truth and it is through this truth that you will find freedom.

Sin brings a separation of your spirit from your spirit’s life-source; as such, your spirit is dead apart from God. Thus it is said that the wages of sin is death. This is the cost for the sin that you have walked in. This is the Law of God and to remove sin you must die. But if you are dead, how can you walk with God? And if you were to die in your sins then the judgment of that sin will condemn you forever. You are caught in a catch-22 and there was no hope for you.

But God loved you so much that He made a way for you to die to your sins so that sin no longer has a hold on you without physically dying. Since there had to be a physical death to defeat the power of sin in your life, God gave His one and only begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, to live and die in your place. Jesus, who knew no sin, thus death had no legal hold on him, freely gave himself and his death became a substitute for your death. He paid the price and died in your place. Because he had no sin, the Law and death could not hold him and God raised Jesus Christ from the dead and sat him at His right hand to rule over those who chose life though faith in him.

This new life is given to whoever believes in Jesus Christ, who believes that he is the way to God the Father. This person shall not perish but he shall receive and grow in the truth. And just as God raised Jesus from the dead He will also give life to your spirit. You will be able to live in righteousness not in your power, but in the power the blood of Christ brings into your life.

Why is faith in Christ so important? It is because there is a wall of sin between you and God. It separates your spirit from your spirit’s life-source, God; thus your spirit, apart from God, is dead. All doubt is sin, for it is doubt that separates you from the truth. You are not alone in this for the Bible plainly says “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” I struggle with sin daily, but I have found that because of what Jesus did for me, my faith in him has the power to remove this wall of sin from my life. The more I learn and believe in Christ, the greater the power.
