At the heart of our message of reconciliation with God Almighty as our Father is that this reconciliation does not come through our righteousness, but through a righteousness that was bought for us. We were separated by a wall of sin from our heavenly Father, the Father of life, and could only know Him as God Almighty. God gave men the Law in order for men to know Him, but they turned it into a religion because sin blinded them to the truth that God is Spirit and must be worshiped, not through fulfilling laws through the flesh, but in spirit and truth. How could men die to sin in order to live in righteousness when they couldn't even die to the flesh and live in the spirit and in truth?
God looked for a man, just one man, who would live before Him a sinless life. Even if he had lived a sinless life, he could have been saved from death, but there was still no hope for any other man other than himself. As time went by, it seemed that man was born into sin because every thought of his heart was evil and against God. There was only one who could die for all of creation and that was the one whom all creation came through, The Word.
Before Jesus came into the world, he was in the position of The Word. He was the first born of all creation and before anything else was created, he was given the place as God's Word. As The Word, Jesus spoke into creation all God desired. You could say that God was the architect and The Word was the builder - God laid out the plan and The Word brought it forth. As through the one that all creation came through, he and he alone, was in the position to give his life to pay the debt of our sins - for the sins of all creation. For who is greater, the created or the creator? Without the creator there would be no creation. Only through the life of the creator could life have ever enter into his creation.
As The Word, he was is a powerful and favored position, it would not be wrong to call him a god since all creation came through him. Would he even consider laying down his position and become lower than the angels by becoming a man. There was something about The Word that set him apart, he never considered himself anything other than a servant of the Living God, his Father, and he loved his Father more than he loved himself. You could say it was in his DNA. When it became obvious that the Law was not the answer, it became obvious that there was no hope. Then one day, The Word turned to his Father and said the simple words, "Send me."
Out of all men, only Jesus was able to live a sinless life. His love for his Father was far greater than his love for himself, this was obvious even though he became a man and had to grow as all men do in their knowledge of the Living God, but the one thing that was different than any other man was as I said before, it was in his DNA. Temptation would come and he would suffer because he was torn between his flesh with its desires and his spirit that defined who he was. And though he was tempted in all things, his spirit was triumphant and he was without sin.
It is true that one man could not pay the price for all men, but the one that all creation came through could. As such, the man, Jesus of Nazareth, did not shrink back from his mission, he freely gave his life and died so that we can be reconciled to his God and our God, and once again be able to know Him as our Father.
Jesus had to die because our sins put a wall between God and His children and this wall brought death to our spirit - in other words, the wages of our sin is death. Jesus had to die because all other men were under this same judgement and could not pay this debt; death could not pay the price for death, only life could satisfy this debt. But all men have sinned; as such, all men were dead in their sins and could not pay the price for even their own life, much less, for all creation.
This message is presented to all with ears to hear and eyes to see for the purpose of preparing the way for the Messiah's return.
